Darab Hormozi, MD, FACS performs eyelid surgery for patients in Bethesda, MD.

What Is Eyelid Surgery?

Dr. Hormozi performs several kinds of eyelid surgeries including upper eyelid surgery, which helps restore the shape of the upper eyelid; lower eyelid surgery, which removes excess fat and skin from the area; Asian eyelid crease surgery, which creates a crease in the eyelid; and Hispanic eyelid surgery, which removes excess skin on the upper eyelid.

How Is Eyelid Surgery Performed?

Eyelid surgeries work by removing excess skin and fat around the eye, which improves drooping, sagging, and hooded eyelids. In some cases, the muscle is tightened, and the eyebrow is repositioned to help fix the appearance of the upper eyelid. When incisions are required, Dr. Hormozi uses a one-stitch sewing technique and carefully places the incisions, both of which reduces the appearance of scars, so they are barely visible.
